At Region 16 Education Service Center, exceptional service isn’t just about meeting expectations—it’s about exceeding them. And when it comes to going the extra mile for educators, Kaylie Massie, M.Ed., stands out in every way.
As a Curriculum and Instruction Specialist, Kaylie’s passion for education and unwavering commitment to helping teachers shine through in everything she does. Whether she’s leading a training session, answering a phone call, or jumping on a Zoom meeting, her enthusiasm and dedication never waver. Her colleague, Amy Manchee, puts it best:
"Without fail, EVERY SINGLE TIME I see or hear Kaylie interact with a customer, whether it is in person, on the phone, or via Zoom, I am blown away by her distinguished level of customer service. She is always willing to go out of her way to make sure the customer has what they need and more."
Kaylie’s approach to her work is rooted in a deep desire to support educators. Having spent over a decade in education, she understands the challenges teachers face. Her goal at Region 16 has always been to lighten their load, so they can focus on what they do best—teaching and caring for students.
"When I first came to Region 16, my whole goal was to help teachers," Kaylie shares. "They feel such a burden right now with just loving on their students but also teaching content. So when I came, I saw it as an opportunity to ask: What can I do for you to make your load easier so that you can love on these students?"
This mindset extends beyond the classroom. Kaylie sees Region 16 as an integral part of the community, ensuring that when educators are equipped with the right tools and resources, students thrive. And when students thrive, communities flourish.
"I feel like working at Region 16, we have this great impact on our community," she says. "We are able to meet the needs of our teachers so that our students can thrive. And if our students are thriving, guess what? It builds back into our community. It is a cool cycle to watch."
Beyond her technical expertise, what sets Kaylie apart is the genuine joy she brings to her role. She thrives on building relationships with teachers, collaborating with her colleagues, and developing solutions that make an impact. She believes that grace, love, and compassion are critical in education, and she models these values in her daily interactions.
"My favorite part of my job is getting to work with my teachers directly," Kaylie says. "I love when they come to my sessions or when I get to go see them. I like being able to create things that they need. I love helping them save time and giving them resources that just lift their load, but I also love the people I work with. They make me want to come in. They are happy and joyful, and who doesn’t want to be around that?"
Her passion for helping others doesn’t stop at work. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, and even running half marathons—sometimes dragging her husband along for the journey. She’s also diving into the world of artificial intelligence, eager to explore how it can help educators save time and refocus on what matters most.
For those considering a career in education, Kaylie has simple but powerful advice: “Do it. But know it is the hardest job that you will ever love. It’s worth the hard work. It’s so rewarding. In the end, you are going to love it.”
At Region 16, service isn’t just about delivering resources—it’s about building relationships and making a difference. And thanks to professionals like Kaylie Massie, that difference is felt every day by teachers, students, and the community.
