Early Learning Academy
Facts about the partnership between PSP CISD and Region 16
The School Action Fund grant funded PSP CISD to engage in a planning process to launch a new campus for eligible 3- and 4-year old students to receive high-quality pre-kindergarten schooling. Additionally onsite will be an infant and toddler licensed child care facility. By combining these two programs PSP CISD and Region 16 are building a model road map of how to braid and blend different funds from complex systems and sources to meet the appropriate student needs and licensing requirements. This first-of-its-kind collaboration between a school district and an education service center lays a strong foundation for this innovative school, which will serve as a valuable resource for early learners across the community.
Recognizing the opportunity to partner with PSP CISD in this transformative endeavor and following a rigorous selection process, Region 16 was offered the opportunity to serve as the SB1882 operating partner for the 3- and 4- year old school at the new Early Learning Academy. The appointment of an executive director by Region 16 will ensure effective leadership and guidance for the successful launch and operation of this important initiative. Pending approval from the TEA, this partnership marks the first time an Education Service Center has engaged with a District as an SB1882 operating partner in early learning for PreK 3 and 4, highlighting the innovative and collaborative spirit of both PSP CISD and Region 16.
